Baby names

I am so tired of being asked what we are naming her. PLEASE HELP! I have named each of our three existing children, and big Chauncey has claimed this little girl as his final decision on the name. I have suggested Amelia. That is the only name I would be completely happy naming her. He doesn't love it, but can't contribute a name that I can agree to. He likes Ashley. Maybe a few others, but nothing I love.
Please please please be so generous and share with us your favorite baby girl name. If we take it, we probaby won't be living near you so it would make no difference, so be generous!

M and I fought about Ellen vs. Helen if Scott had been a girl. The ultrasound ended that debate - we'll see if it rages on in the future. But most people don't like either of those. A more popular alternative that I can't get M to agree with is Ella. I also like Claire (obviously!), Lauren, and Audrey. I like Amelia a lot. That is my cousin's name but she's the only one I know with it.

My favorite girl name is Kate, but you already have a Kate!

You know, I wanted to name one of our girls Ashley but Charity wont let me. I think it's a great name! But then again, if you choose that name, I can't use it. Well, such is life.

Yeah, I'm going to have to reiterate my distaste for the name Ashley. Sorry. If you do name her Ashley, I will still love her though. Ooh, and if you name your daughter Ashley, that means I won't have to! :)
But in all seriousness, Amelia is a wonderful name, and I like it quite a bit. I'm also quite in love with the name Clara or Claire, but it's a little lower on my list of girls names, so if you want that you can totally have it. :P
I also really love the name Sadie, but James doesn't like it.
Others I love: Esme (Loved), Cora (Heart, Maiden), Charlotte (Free), Cecilia (Blind, so not the greatest meaning), and Cassandra (She Who Entangles Men).
Those are some of my suggestions. I'm sure you'll come up with the perfect name for her, no matter what you choose. Even if it is Ashley. (Which, in case you wanted to know, means From "The Ash Tree Field")

My most favorite name is Kate. Emma would have been a Kate but Jake's sister is Kathryn (but we call her Kate/Katie.) It's Emma's middle name instead. I like Amelia and Ashley too. My sister's name is Ashleigh.

Here is a list of a few girl names I like: Alyssa, Allison, Ava or Eva, Brenna, Brooklyn, Brynn, Callie, Charlotte, Elise, Eliza, Ella, Emma, Hailey, Josie, Kaylee, Kennedy, Lauryn, Madison, Mallory, Marissa, Maya, Melissa, Morgan, Olivia, Rachel, Samantha, Savannah, Sophie, and Zoe.

I'm sure no matter what name you choose for your little girl, it will be perfect. I can't wait to see pics of her in a few weeks!

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I'm working hard and just wish it wasn't so hard to lose weight. My stomach has been feeling a little weird the past couple days so I haven't been at the gym very much and I'm having withdrawals. Hopefully I'm back to normal soon.

Good luck with your delivery! Can't wait to hear details.

Josh and I had a hard time naming our second daughter. The first one is easy... We found Siera's name on a barrett in a baby store. We saw it and we both looked at each other and went "that's the one". You could try something like that. Or my friend just named her daughter Briley. It's unique and kinda cute.
I hope all goes well with the delivery...By the way it kills me how tiny you are still!!! You look great!

You would think I have used all of my favorite girl names, but no. I love love Shelby, and Dan hates hates it. But I always think a cute little borwn eyed, dark hair girl would be a Shelby. My other favorites are Winter, Marlee, McKay (short for McKayla). My favorite out of my girl's is Heidi. Good luck with the delivery! Is there really a baby in there?

Wow, so many great ideas. I was going to say Brynn (so pretty, short, likeable), Amelie (a little different than Amelia- I like it), Haven, and Quinn. There are some great names you don't hear too often. :)

The name part is one of the most stressful parts of having a new addition... that and the morning or rather all day sickness. I would also say the huge belly too, but I guess you can't relate to that part. (I'm obviously not jealous at all;) You're lucky you get to stay in the "cute" prego phase all the way to delivery. Congrats on the 38 weeks by the way! Okay so the name thing... you had written before that you guys liked the name Ashlyn and I would have to say that I like that better than Ashley. It's a little more unique, but I have no idea if it's getting popular. In fact I think the full name Ashlyn Belle West has a sweet ring to it. I didn't know if you had a middle name yet so I just threw it in there. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Names, especially girl names, are so difficult for me. Whatever you come up with will be great! Good luck with the name and the labor/delivery. We'll keep you in our prayers.

i love thinking about names. I think Samantha is darling (Samantha Ruth sunds good). I wanted to use it and call her Sam but my brother has a Sam so that was out. Good Luck, I am still trying to come up with a name for baby girl number 2.

You should name her Melanie Jr. I'm sure that's allowed. Or there's always Emma and Grace...such pretty names.
