We decided to forgo christmas gifts this year(for the most part) and are heading down to Disney World for a week of fantastic fun! I am so excited! This week I am spending the week trip planning. If anyone has any tips please share! We will be spending 6 nights at the new Orleans riverside resort on the disney resorts site, and we will have 5 days to go to any of the four parks we want.

Lots of fun for you guys! We went two years ago. Here's some tips!
Plan to go first thing in the morning when the park opens (and is less crowded), then come home mid-day for naps and then go back in the afternoon. Many people feel like they need to rush to pack in everything they can and are then completely exhausted by dinner time. By napping, you (especially your kids) will be able to enjoy it all a lot more.
Do what is most fun, not what culture or society tell you SHOULD be most fun. Often the most fun things are unexpected. For example, we loved Epcott Center because the kids could experience a bunch of different cultures and enjoy a nice fireworks show, and they liked that. We also liked Animal Kingdom because the lines were shorter and there were more shows to watch indoors and some fun places like the Dinosaur play yard area. Be sure to see the Lion King show, that was a favorite that we saw twice.
Magical Kingdom itself did not seem to be as much fun for us---the rides there are a little cliched, like what you can get at any carnival. There, the most fun thing for the kids was meeting the characters.
Speaking of which, bring little notebooks for all the kids to get "autographs" of the characters and then add in pictures later for neat scrapbooks.
MGM Studios is really more for adults. It's fun, but do that one last because the other parks are better for kids.
Milk the FastPass things. While you are waiting in line for one thing, have your spouse get FastPasses to something else. Get FastPasses for the most popular things first thing in the morning.
Don't buy souvenirs at the parks. Go to the local dollar store down the street and get them for a fraction of the cost.
Best rides: hang gliding (Epcott Center), Roller coaster at Animal Kingdom, AK safari. The Goofy rollercoaster in Magic Kingdom is fun for kids. That's really about all I remember, to be honest. My other memories of the experience are not of specific rides.
I think that's about it, and you probably knew most of these already, but just in case!
